SubMac / FAQ
Questions
Straight answers about SubMac.
What it costs, how payment and credits work, what happens to your resume, and why SubMac never adds anything you didn’t give it.
The basics
What does SubMac do?
SubMac tailors your resume to one specific job ad. Paste the job ad and add your resume, and you get a free match score with the keywords you’re missing. If you choose to tailor, SubMac rewrites your resume for that job using only your real experience, and shows you every change, the score before and after, and the requirements you don’t meet yet.
Will SubMac invent experience, numbers or skills?
No. Your employers, job titles, dates and education are copied from your resume, never written by the AI. A number only appears if it’s in your resume or you typed it in when we asked. A skill from the job ad is only used where your experience shows it, and anything else goes on your gap list instead. An automatic check reverts any line that breaks these rules, and a second review pass flags exaggeration. How the honesty checks work.
Is the ATS match score really free?
Yes. The match score and missing-keyword list are free for any job ad, with no sign-up. The score is calculated in your browser, so nothing is uploaded for it. It’s an estimate of keyword coverage and formatting, not a prediction of whether you’ll be hired.
How long does it take?
The free score takes a few seconds. Tailoring takes about a minute, so the whole thing, from pasting the job ad to downloading your resume, is usually around two minutes.
Pricing and payment
How much does SubMac cost?
The match score is free. One tailored resume is $1. The Job Hunt Pack is $5 for 3 tailored resumes and 3 cover letters. These are one-time payments in US dollars: there is no subscription, no free trial that turns into a charge, and no automatic renewal.
What is a credit, and do credits expire?
One credit tailors one resume for one job ad. Cover-letter credits come with the Job Hunt Pack. Credits don’t expire, so you can use them whenever you apply. If the AI step fails, the credit is returned to your account automatically.
How do I pay?
Through Sifalo Pay’s secure hosted checkout, with Visa or Mastercard (and supported mobile wallets). Prices are in US dollars. We never see or store your card number. Credits are added once Sifalo Pay confirms your payment, and every payment gets a receipt you can view, print or save as a PDF from “My receipts” in the app.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If you change your mind, you can get a refund for any credits you haven’t used. We also refund you if you were charged but didn’t get your credits, were charged twice, or something else went wrong with a purchase. Email contact@submac.site with your receipt number. Refunds are processed within 2 business days and go back through Sifalo Pay. See the terms.
Do you have promo codes?
Sometimes, for launches. Sign in with Google, then enter the code in the “Have a promo code?” box in the app. Each code can be used once per account, and codes can have start and end dates or a limited number of spots.
Your resume and your data
Which file formats can I use?
You can upload a PDF or Word (.docx) file with real text, or paste your resume as plain text. Scanned images of a resume can’t be read, so paste the text instead. Your tailored resume downloads as a PDF and a Word file, in 3 ATS-safe templates.
What happens to my resume?
The free score runs entirely in your browser. When you tailor, your resume and the job ad are sent to our server and to the AI service that does the rewrite. We keep a structured copy of your resume’s content, the job requirements and your tailored result in your account, so you can download it again or re-run it with new answers. Your tailored resumes stay saved in your account until you delete them. We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising. See the privacy policy.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Your tailored resumes stay saved in your account until you delete them. You can delete any of them, or ask us to delete your account, at any time: delete resumes from your account, and email contact@submac.site to delete your account or to ask for a copy of your data. If we ever introduce a time limit, we’ll update this page first.
Which AI does SubMac use?
Google’s Gemini API does the rewrite. For visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, and as a backup if Gemini is unavailable, Groq’s API does it instead. Your resume and the job ad are sent to them only to produce your result.
How do I contact you?
