Check your resume before you send it.

Four free checks in one: an ATS format check, a weak phrase finder, a numbers check and a shareable score card. They run in your browser, so your resume isn’t uploaded anywhere.

Resume health check

Free. Runs in your browser.

What it checks

  • ATS format checkTables and side-by-side columns, scanned or image-only PDFs, text hidden in Word headers and footers, missing email or phone, unusual section headings, length, file type and icons.
  • Weak phrase finderHighlights “responsible for”, “helped”, “worked on”, “duties included”, “various”, “team player” and more, with stronger verbs to use if they’re true.
  • Numbers checkLists the bullets with no figure and asks: could you add a number here (how many, how much, how often)? We never invent one.
  • Shareable score cardAdd a job ad to get your free match score, then share it as an image. Only the score and job title go on the card.

Plain rules, no AI. Use them as a checklist, not a verdict: no tool can promise how every applicant tracking system behaves.

ATS format check

Applicant tracking systems (ATS) turn your file into plain text before anyone reads it. Layouts that look good to people can come out scrambled. The format check looks at the file you upload and flags:

  • Tables and columns. Text side by side is often read straight across, mixing two sections into one line.
  • Scanned or image-only PDFs. If there is no text layer, the system sees a blank page.
  • Headers and footers in Word. Many systems skip them, so contact details placed there can disappear.
  • Missing email or phone, unusual section headings (no “Experience”, “Education” or “Skills”), more than about two pages, odd file types and icon fonts.

Pasted text can only be checked for words, not layout, so upload the PDF or Word file you actually send.

Weak phrase finder

Phrases like “responsible for”, “worked on” and “duties included” describe a job, not what you did in it. The finder highlights them and suggests stronger action verbs such as Led, Built, Managed or Delivered.

Only use a stronger verb if it’s true. If you supported someone else’s project, “Supported” or “Contributed to” is the honest word, and recruiters respect it more than a claim you can’t back up in an interview.

Numbers check

Figures make a bullet concrete: how many customers, how much money, how often, how fast. The numbers check lists every bullet without one and asks if you could add a real number.

It never suggests a number for you. If you don’t know the figure, leave the line as it is.

Shareable score card

Add a job ad above to get your free match score, then tap “Share my score” to download a clean image (square for Instagram and WhatsApp, wide for LinkedIn and X), share it from your phone, or copy a link. The card shows only your score, the job title and submac.site, never your resume, name or contact details.

Is my resume uploaded?

No. These checks run in your browser. Your file is read on your device and nothing is sent to our server. If you later choose to tailor your resume, that step does use our server and an AI service; the privacy policy explains how.
