Questions
Good to know.
How are words counted?
A word is any run of letters or numbers, so “don’t” and “well-known” count as one word each. Numbers like 2026 count as words too, as in most word processors.
Do emojis count as one character?
Yes. We count characters the way you see them, so an emoji or an accented letter counts once. X counts some emoji as two characters, so leave a little room for posts full of emoji.
How long should a CV summary be?
Aim for about 40–100 words: two to four short lines that say who you are, what you’re good at and what you want next. Recruiters skim, so shorter usually wins.
What are the LinkedIn limits?
Posts allow 3,000 characters, the headline 220 and the About section 2,600. Only the first two or three lines of a post show before “see more”, so put the point up front.
Is my text saved or sent anywhere?
No. Counting happens in your browser and nothing is stored or uploaded.
